Winners of the 2018 Boston Scientific Student Scholarship

With only 35 days to go until dotMD, we are thrilled to announce the 2019 dotMD Student Scholars. We are proud to partner with Boston Scientific Ireland to enable ten medical students to attend the festival of medical curiosity this September.

This year, we received fifty outstanding applications from across Ireland. We would like to thank all the wonderful students who applied (and made our selection process extremely difficult!).

The budding dotMD scholars represented the sheer range of hidden interests among future doctors – from being talented musicians, to narrative medicine aficionados, cartoonists, journalists and film fanatics. They also revealed the importance these medical students rightly place on reflection, self-care and mental wellbeing – practices that are inseparable from being compassionate doctors into the future.

DotMD is delighted to celebrate and inspire these passions through the Boston Scientific Scholarship. We look forward to welcoming students and graduates alike to our hierarchy-free, OSCE-free, good-vibes-only event on September 13th and 14th.

The ten successful candidates for this year’s dotMD are:

Adlina Ab Rahim (NUIG)

Réiltín Tynan (NUIG)

Rachel Millar (QUB)

Emma Donohoe (TCD)

Marianne Foley (TCD)

Ola Nordrum (UCD)

Jacquie Safieh (UCD)

Killian O’Connor (UL)

Thomas Hefferon (UL)

Richard Mc Namara (UL)

We look forward to seeing you in Galway next month!

If your application was not selected this year, you can still feast on dotMD stories on our YouTube channel, and keep an eye on our Twitter to apply again next year.
