Calling it a day

, | August 5, 2023

We are sad to announce that we at dotMD have decided to call it a day.

dotMD is retiring.

Muiris Houston, Alan Coss and I never dreamt that the festival would still be running after 10 years – and are hugely proud of what the meeting has achieved, the community that gathered around it, and the impact it appears to have had on so many.

However the running of the festival has, in recent years, become too all consuming to be sustainable – for a small team of people who also have jobs and lives outside medicine. We appreciate that this may come as a surprise and a disappointment to many of you, but we have thought long and hard about it over the last year. We think its time.

We wanted to firstly take the opportunity to thank all of you who supported the meeting over the years – especially those of you who were regular attenders. It was a privilege to be part of the wonderful community that gathered around the meeting. You made it worthwhile.

Thanks to our amazing speakers, performers, and of course our sponsors – especially Abbvie who were there from the start.

We also wanted to thank GoWest our event organisers who have helped keep the show on the road over the years.

Content from dotMD 2022 (and previous meetings) is now available on the dotMD Youtube channel.

We hope to see you at some stage in the future – online or in person.
